About

The AMANI Foundation is a charitable organization working among the Maasai communities in northern Tanzania. Our goal is to bring real and lasting improvement to the quality of life in this region through practical and targeted action in key areas:

  • Supporting education for children and youth – providing educational materials, organizing developmental activities, language and vocational courses, and cooperating with local schools.
  • Assisting agricultural development – supplying tools, conducting training on accessible farming techniques, and establishing crops adapted to local conditions.
  • Encouraging entrepreneurship and local initiatives – developing business models, teaching management skills, and motivating the Maasai to start their own enterprises.
  • Improving access to basic healthcare – organizing medical aid, promoting preventive health measures, and conducting health education.
  • Expanding water systems and providing access to clean drinking water – building water access points and implementing infrastructure solutions that improve sanitation conditions.

We are currently finalizing the construction of our Volunteer Center, a space dedicated to people who want to turn their talents and commitment into meaningful help. It will be a place of exchange, inspiration, and cooperation – for both the local community and volunteers from around the world.

Additionally, the Foundation is involved in:

  • Constructing simple and eco-friendly infrastructure solutions (e.g. smoke-reducing stoves, rainwater harvesting systems),
  • Empowering women in developing their social and economic roles,
  • Running pro-environmental initiatives to protect the local ecosystem.

Our mission is to seek peace, hope, and harmony together – as the word “Amani” means in Swahili.
